Introduction to Managed MetaData Service:
SharePoint 2010 has improved the way information can be captured, classified and tagged. SharePoint 2007 introduced the concpts of Content Types and Site Columns and got information workers started to classify their knowledge assets. SharePoint 2010 provides advanced features and functionality to enable Knowledge Management within the organization. At an architectural-level, SharePoint 2010 introduces Managed Metadata Service. From a usability perspective, SharePoint 2010 introduces the Termstore Management Tool (TMT). Client Object Model:
Client Object Model (CO) is a new addition to SharePoint 2010. You can develop applications in .NET, Silverlight or JavaScript because client Object Model provides assemblies for each of these technologies.
